Confuse your brain with these Optical Illusions!

No comments :

The brain can be an amazing thing. Able to take in, comprehend and find a solution at super quick speeds whenever it receives a message from our body that there is a problem to be solved.
While indeed being a sophisticated organ in it's own right, it's naive to assume that our cerebral cpu has infinite power.

The reason it performs so well is partly down to it's vast and intricate memory system. The things that we perceive are taken in, processed, sorted, filed and the junk discarded. See your brain filters out a lot of duplicate sights and sounds and focuses on whatever you might have your attention on. The main subject matter of your memories go through a long and complex cataloguing system for use later.

If you've ever tried to think back to a point in time and realised that your thoughts on what was going on around you and in your peripheral vision are confused or simply non-existent, then this is your brilliant mind at work.

As i mentioned, the good stuff is kept and stored, your brain makes the call if something should be kept to help you survive at a later time. Now lets imagine you've just walked into a room being relatively unaware of the contents, you glance around and notice something bizarre for the sake of this example lets say you think you see a large bin over in the corner, but wait, double take, it's just a water cooler. You've seen both objects before so how could you make a mistake? Well your brain is working quick again. Your brain scanned your vision and upon seeing the start of something that resembled a large bin, it filled in the blanks from memory!

There's lots of times this reflex pops up, and optical illusions exploit this brain feature.

I think this might be my favourite illusion, the square marked A is the same colour as the square marked B, Disagree? Edit it in MSpaint and copy and paste the squares next to each other, you won't believe your eyes!

A bird in the what? :)

Well there you go, A few examples of some optical illusions as well as a quick lesson on the brain.

Hungry for more? I'll be posting more illusions sometime soon, but for now i hope you enjoyed this post :)
